The strangest 6 months. A Real mixed bag of emotions

A new Chapter is upon me.

I moved out of Capel Hendre in July this year. It was a wonderfully productive room for me.

So many artists' music, songs and projects were created and recorded there.

Last year I managed to finish 3 songs for Chris de Burgh and Chris Porter.

This year saw me teamng up with Chris Porter in April and throughout the year, I've been managing to complete songs for quite a few artists.

In September/October I started work on some tracks for Steve Cradock, of Ocean Colour Scene fame.

I'm getting ready to work on a track for their new album as we speak.

August, I joined Dire Straits Legacy for the foreseeable future.

In October/November we flew to Mexico and Brazil. Incredible audiences and such a pleasure to play with legends and wonderful musicians. I love to travel.

With all the good....comes a counter punch.

On the 24th November this year, We lost one of my besties. Andrew 'Wal' Coughlan played bass alongside me since we were both 18 years old. He was an incredible human being with a ferocious thirst for hard work. When we recorded in Nashville in 2000, Wal was there with me, alonside Tony Kiley on Drums and Tim Hamill on Guitar (and another pair of Amazing Engineer ears). It was like being rewarded by having your best mates with you.

We last worked with Wal on the 8th October this year for Mal Pope and the Jacks' SWANSEA ARENA SHOW. Little did we know then that he was ill. Rehearsals were a struggle for Wal, and we were concerned. It still hasn't hit me yet. I am trying to keep busy, but I know with Wal's funeral on the 18th of this month, December....it's going to be an extremely difficult day for us all, but moreso for Ren his wife, Toby and Ross his sons and their wonderful grandchildren. Life really is fucking cruel sometimes.

I am going to miss him so much.  RIP my lovely mate. I miss your farts already
