Orange said, The future 's bright. Thankfully it's not Orange.
It was a wonderful start to the year. Dire Straits Legacy went to India. A culture that I have loved since I first read about Ganesha, Ravi Shankar and tasted the indian foods that would ignite my palette.
The Audience didn't disappoint, and the food....well where do you go from there. The UK and especially Birmingham have many curry houses, but hopefully they'll match the curries I got in Mumbai and Bangalore. Incredible.
So I'll be rejoining Dire Straits Legacy in September 2026.
As always, Their gigs are the stuff of legends. Incredible energy and some of the most wonderful playing on legendary songs.
2025
2025 has been a very interesting year.
Having joined Dire Straits Legacy in August, I've traveled to Italy, Sardinia, Turkey, Albania, Croatia, Mexico and Brazil.
Fabulous shows with the Boys.
Brazil was in October/November and then....who knows?
2024
Last year was a very interesting year for me. It started off gig wise with my Solo concerts in Nuremberg, and onto two shows in the Czech republic with Bonnie Tyler.
Then onto some shows with Paul Metcalfe and his "Some Guys Have All the Luck" show.
Three of my old Chris de Burgh Stable mates are in the band.
I finished off 2024 with 3 concerts with Bonnie Tyler in, Wrocklaw, Poznan and Warsaw. 3 sell out shows.
My Solo Concert
I performed in Nuremberg last January. A gig that everyone was welcome to.
We did the same kind of gig in 2022, in a beautiful little church.
IHopefully this April, I will be performing once again in Nuremberg.
Mal Pope
Mal Pope and the Jacks performed at the Swansea Arena in October 2024. It was 50 years in the music business for Mal Pope after being signed as a 12 year old to Rocket Records, Elton John's label.
Elton took Mal under his wing, but fate stepped in a Mal's voice broke when he was 13 years old. They were half way through the album.
Gus Dudgeon was producing and at that time, Gus was using amazing players like Roger Pope on drums and Davey Johnstone on Guitars. Paul Buckmaster was in charge of Orchestral arrangements.
Mal has recently remixed all the old Rocket sessions after Elton gave back all of the Master recordings. I'm glad to say, those songs HAVE stood the test of time and I was very pleased to contribute to some of them.
This year, Mal has been booked back into the Swasnea Arena in October.
Tombstone Dunnery gigs
Francis Dunnery is Tombstone Dunnery. This is Francis's Blues project. Brand new songs, and we toured the country in late 2023 with wonderful musicians and crew.
Hopefully Francis decides to resurrect the Blues of Tombstone Dunnery in the future
